Founded in 1871 on Rua da Feitoria dos Linhos, the main Soap Factory of the city of Coimbrawas inaugurated by Augusto Luiz Martha.
The factory at Rossio de Santa Clara, known as “A Lusitana,” represented a true innovationin the industry of the late 19th century and remained in operation until the 1990s. It wasactive for more than a hundred years, producing bar soap and personal-use soaps. Thearomas that filled the air were abundant and left no one indifferent.
From the old Lusitana remains this symbolic building, which has been fully restored,maintaining its original structure and features, considered of historical and heritage value.
The renovation preserves and combines these elements with comfortable interior spaces,large windows, high-quality finishes, and layouts typical of modern accommodations.
